John Thurston's current work delves into diversified subject matter and its related emotional content. He enjoys experimenting with the painted surface, combining different materials and mediums. The expressive nature of his brush strokes and color choices speak to the soul. John primarily paints abstracts but he also enjoys creating paintings that have representational subject matter from time to time. Experimentation has always been an important element in his work. His paintings are created using a variety of mediums such as acrylics, oils and pastels.

New Jersey basketmaker Vicki Diamond attributes her obsession with vessels to the fact that she moved constantly during the first twenty years of her life. Born in Fukuoka, Japan, she spent her childhood in Naples, Italy, as well as various US states before making Rockaway, New Jersey, her home. The vessel, Vicki suggests, is ultimately about nesting, about finding a home.
