Linda White

Linda White has been drawing and painting since early childhood. She often sketched alongside her father, who was a talented artist and calligrapher.

For many years, she worked mostly in pencil. Then she found inspiration in the works of John Constable and she began concentrating on painting landscapes, in her own style. Linda White favors a realistic approach to her oil paintings, pencil, and colored pencil works.

Linda enjoys exploring country roads and searching for the rural scenes that she enjoys putting to canvas. She often finds herself immersed in the sounds and smells of the subject, as she works to bring the visual to life. She hopes her paintings convey her steadfast love of old houses, gardens and country scenes.

Besides studying with her father, Linda has taken lessons with Mr. & Mrs. Randall of Denville, N. J., two years of fashion illustration and life drawing at Traphagen School of Design in New York City, classes at Cooper Union in NYC, and portrait drawing and oil painting with Ruth Randall of Morristown N. J.

Linda moved to southern Lancaster County PA from Morris County NJ in 2003 where she is constantly inspired by her surroundings. Linda takes regular journeys to Sussex NJ for additional inspiration.

Linda was a member of the Art Association in Roxbury and the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Society in NJ.

Linda is currently a member of Lancaster County Art Association and the Octoraro Art Association, both in Lancaster County, PA.
